Renting a bounce house is the easiest way to keep kids busy for a whole party, but a few minutes of planning makes the day go much smoother. Here's what to think about before you book. To see every unit with prices and live dates, go to our bounce house rentals in Arizona page.
1. Choose the right type of bounce house
- Classic bounce houses (from $75): an open jumping area, often in a theme like superheroes, princesses or sports. Best value for younger kids.
- Combos: a bounce area plus a slide, and often a basketball hoop or climbing wall. They keep kids aged 5-12 busy longer.
- Water combos: combos you can use wet in summer. If you want a real splash, see our water slide rentals in Phoenix.
- Toddler units: lower walls and a soft, small slide for ages 3-8. Read what a toddler bounce house is.
- Neutral and white bounce houses: popular for weddings, baby showers and photos. See white bounce house rentals.
2. Check your space
You need a flat area (grass, turf or concrete) about 5 ft larger than the rental on every side, and a standard outlet within 50 ft. If your backyard is behind a side gate, the path needs to be at least 4 ft (48 in) wide for most units. Tell us about slopes, trees or overhead wires when you book.
3. Plan around the Phoenix heat
From May through September, morning and evening parties are the most comfortable. Put the bounce house in shade if you can, keep water bottles nearby, and give kids breaks. Many families switch to a water combo or a water slide in the hottest months.
4. Parks, HOAs and schools
Yes. City parks charge a $75 park fee and HOA or neighborhood parks $45-75. Park events must rent our generator so we know the power will work. See delivery & park fees. HOAs sometimes ask for a certificate of insurance, which we can provide. Schools and churches can also book obstacle courses and inflatable games for bigger groups.
5. What it costs
Bounce houses start at $75. Delivery, setup and pickup are included in our standard Phoenix area, and other cities may have a delivery fee. You keep the unit for the whole party day, and overnight is free for approved, secure locations.
6. Safety basics
- An adult watches at all times.
- Keep kids of similar size together, and don't overload the unit.
- No shoes, food, drinks, silly string or sharp objects inside.
- Stop in winds over 15-20 mph or lightning.
We clean and sanitize every unit after every rental. See how we clean and our safety policies.
7. Party-day checklist
- Clear the setup area of toys, dog waste, sprinkler heads and anything sharp the night before.
- Unlock the side gate and move cars so the crew can roll the unit in.
- Have an outlet within 50 ft (not shared with a pool pump or AC), or rent a generator.
- Pick one adult to watch the bounce house at all times, and rotate every 30 minutes.
- Set out water, sunscreen and a shady spot for breaks.
- Keep the blower running while the unit is in use, and stop play if the wind picks up.
8. Bounce house or water slide?
For ages 3-8, a toddler bounce house or toddler water slide is the safest pick. For ages 5-12 in summer, a water combo or a double-lane water slide is usually the bigger hit. For mixed ages or a school event, add an obstacle course so older kids have a challenge. Not sure? Call us and tell us how many kids and what ages, and we'll suggest a setup that fits your yard and budget.
