An inflatable water slide is the easiest way to turn a Phoenix backyard into a party, and from April to October it is often the only thing kids want to do outside. This guide covers what we tell every customer on the phone: how to pick the right size, how to check your yard, what you need to provide, and what it costs. When you're ready, compare every slide on our water slide rentals in Phoenix page.
1. Pick the right size for the kids (and adults) coming
Slide height is the first decision, because it decides who can use it safely and how much space you need.
- 16-17 ft toddler slides (from $150) are made for ages 3-8. Short climb, gentle slope, and a small splash pool. Great for preschool birthdays and small yards.
- 18-24 ft backyard slides (from $399) are the most popular size for birthday parties with kids around 5-12. Most are double-lane, so two kids race down at once and lines move faster.
- 25-32 ft big slides (from $650) are tall enough for teens and adults. Good for big family parties, church events and neighborhood get-togethers.
- 36-42 ft giant slides (from $2,200) are made for schools, festivals and community events. See our 40 ft water slide rentals.
If you have a wide age range, a double-lane slide in the 20-24 ft range is the safe middle choice. Want something for the teens on the ground too? Add a slip n slide.
2. Measure your yard before you book
You need a flat area (grass, turf or concrete) about 5 ft larger than the rental on every side, and a standard outlet within 50 ft. If your backyard is behind a side gate, the path needs to be at least 4 ft (48 in) wide for most units. Tell us about slopes, trees or overhead wires when you book.
A quick way to check: pace out the flat part of your yard, note where your nearest outdoor outlet is, and measure the narrowest point between the street and the backyard (usually the side gate). Send us those three numbers and we'll tell you which slides fit.
3. Water, power and the Arizona heat
- Water: a garden hose that reaches the top of the slide. It runs like a sprinkler for the afternoon.
- Power: a standard outlet within 50 ft for the blower, on a circuit that isn't shared with something heavy like a pool pump. No outlet? Rent a generator.
- Heat: in summer the vinyl gets hot before the water is on. Turn the water on as soon as the crew finishes setup, and keep it running while kids play. Shade and drinks for the grown-ups help too.
4. HOA, park and school rules
Most HOAs allow inflatables in backyards. Some ask for a certificate of insurance, which we can provide. For parks, the city charges a $75 park fee (HOA parks $45-75) and you must rent our generator so the power is guaranteed. Schools and churches are welcome, and we're licensed and insured. See school fundraiser rentals and delivery & park fees.
5. What a water slide rental costs in Phoenix
Our water slides start at $150, and every price includes delivery, setup, a safety talk and pickup in our standard Phoenix area. What changes the price:
- Slide size and number of lanes
- Delivery distance (some cities have a delivery fee)
- Add-ons like a generator, tables and chairs, or a second inflatable
- Holiday weekends (4th of July and Memorial Day book up weeks ahead)
Rentals are for the whole party day, not by the hour, and overnight is free for approved, secure locations.
6. Safety rules that keep the party fun
- One adult watching the slide at all times.
- Feet first, one rider per lane, no climbing up the slide side.
- Keep similar ages and sizes together.
- No shoes, glasses or sharp objects.
- Stop if winds pick up over 15-20 mph or there is lightning.
Every unit is cleaned and sanitized after every rental. Read our safety policies.
